He then worked for a congressman in Washington D.C., eventually moving to Atlanta and New York before returning to his hometown, where he is blessed to be married and raise five grown children. On a personal note, Linwood is a champion for at-risk children and served on the board of directors for A Better World Charlotte for over 15 years, including a term as chairman of the board.
During his time with the after-school program, he mentored several great young men and women. All of them graduated from high school, with several going on to enjoy the college experience. Linwood volunteered at Myers Park High School as a mentor and worked with families at The Harvest Center in west Charlotte. In addition, Linwood spends his time and energy with men in recovery at Charlotte Rescue Mission.
